Jason Bliss
PERSONAL - Jason is single with no kids and lives in Westlake Village, California. He’s currently between jobs but previously was the director of business development for Davey Jones Productions. He has played golf his entire life.
TIE TO THE MONTEMAR - Jason’s entrance to the Montemar is a bit of a mystery, although if I read between the lines I think I start to figure it out. Mike tells me one day he’s got a couple buddies for the tournament and shoots me some names and emails. Jason’s is one of them and I assume they go way back. When I ask Jason, he still hasn’t met our dear friend. I’m totally guessing here, but judging by where they live and time of entrance, I’m going to guess Jason is one of Brett Berman’s buddies and possibly/probably in the Gamble Sands crew the week before. If so, he’s going to be living it up for a couple weeks as he’s also signed up to play our on Thursday and Friday. No matter what the exact story is for his entrance, he’s been super polite in emails, obviously loves to golf, and seems like another great fit for this group.
ADDITIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE MONTEMAR - Nothing yet.
WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN IN 2024 - Jason should be in mid summer form by the time he shows up to Idaho. If my theory on him and Brett being buddies is correct it means he’s got at least one playing partner who can swing it. The next step, for Jason, and for all the rookies, is to realize this scoring system is much less complicated than it initially appears. We don’t play any games any of you have never played before, we just have multiple games going on at the same time. There’s some randomness involved in the scoring with the intent of having some luck play into the winners, while also allowing us all to meet new and cool people. If Jason brings that mid-season form, hits some par 3s, and catches a little luck in the things that requires it, no reason it he can’t be hanging around come Monday. Most importantly, the only requirement for me is that everybody has a ton of fun.
ODDS TO WIN – 46-1
FUN FACT – Jason is hyper competitive but adaptable and here for a good time. This is probably the best personality type one can have entering this tournament.
