Black Desert Resort
Black Desert Resort Golf Course is a visually stunning championship layout set among ancient black lava flows just outside St. George in Ivins. Designed as the final masterpiece of legendary architect Tom Weiskopf, the par-72 course stretches around 7,400+ yards and weaves bright green fairways through rugged volcanic rock, framed by the red cliffs of Greater Zion.
The design balances bold desert visuals with thoughtful playability. Wide landing areas welcome resort players, while strategic bunkering and risk-reward holes give low handicappers plenty to think about. The course has quickly earned national attention, hosting the Black Desert Championship on the PGA TOUR, marking a major professional return to Utah.
As part of a luxury resort development, the experience extends beyond the course itself, offering upscale amenities, extensive practice facilities, and a polished, high-end desert golf atmosphere that stands out in Southern Utah.

Air Travel
The best airport to fly to is Las Vegas. Most major airports offer multiple flights into Vegas at reasonable rates.
Black Desert Resort is less than a 2 hour drive from the airport.
Black Desert Resort - Thursday Night
All golfers HAVE to stay at the Black Desert Resort in St. George Thursday night. A bunch of us will be staying there Wednesday night as well before our Thursday round at Sand Hollow. If heading in Wednesday… I’d highly recommend staying there both nights.
Eureka Casino - Friday thru Sunday
We also have a room block at the Eureka Casino. Staying here Friday night and Saturday night will place you closer to the early morning rounds on Saturday and Sunday.
Rooms at both places can run out so don’t wait!
Ground Transportation
For those flying in, you will want to rent a car. The drive to Mesquite is a little over an hour from Las Vegas Airport. The drive to St. George is less than 2 hours.
We should be done with awards by 3 on Sunday and that will be in Mesquite. So factor that in when booking return flights.
